Project Description

This is the second commissioned cover I did for author Maryellen Worrell, which actually comes before the first book I illustrated for her. I had a lot of fun with this image, and I’m pretty pleased with the result. I returned to painting in greyscale first, and then layering on colors with gradient maps and color layers. There’s something very satisfying about greyscale painting. I used my youngest son as a model for the giant kid.
