Firstly, be sure to check out the latest installment of It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time! if you didn’t already. I think I’m going to try to post new installments on Tuesdays and Fridays, we’ll see how long that keeps up, though. If I can’t stay far enough ahead, I may drop back to once a week.

Secondly, I didn’t spend time in the studio yesterday because I was volunteering at my youngest’s elementary school for Art Day. I helped run a few different stations that saw the kids producing different types of art, filling in where ever the staff needed me. It was fun, as usual! By the end of the day, I decided I had to get in on some of the action myself (some of the other adults and teachers were, so I figured I had to, also). In the last block I worked in, the kids had to cut out and decorate paper milk bottles. They traced the shape and the outline of a cow and the letters from a template, then had to decorate the cow and the letters however they wanted. There was one kinder gardener there who was a huge Star Wars fan, he tried to work Kylo Ren into just about every project I saw him work on. He and I had several fun conversations. Anyway, I got the urge to make some Star Wars milk bottles, and this is what I came up with:

Toby-Gray-darth-milk

This was my first idea, which was fun. I probably could have benefited from a picture to get some of the details right, but I think I did okay.

Toby-Gray-yoda-milk

My original thought for the other side was Boba Fett, but one of the kids who was watching me said I should do Yoda, and he was right. The cow head silhouette was too perfect.

So, even though I wasn’t in the studio, I still snuck in some art, and entertained some kids at the same time. Now it’s time to get down to some actual work…not that anyone’s paying me to sit in my studio and draw…yet…
