Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, particularly my own mother and my wife. You may recall the lengthy retrospective-type post I did last year of all my hand-drawn Mother’s Day cards that I’ve been making for my wife since our first child was born. Well, this is 2016’s:
All this drawing I’ve been doing since the Inktober challenge has really helped me improve my skills (funny how near daily practice will do that). I’m still not 100% happy with the way I draw, but I never will be. I’m constantly striving to be better, to learn more, to improve. But, I am happy with my progress. I really feel like I’m capturing the essence of our boys with these dragon characters, their personalities make it easier.
This past weekend was also Free Comic Book Day, which we partook of again. I’ll do a separate post about that either later this week or next. We picked up some cool stuff, I have lots of reading to do!
In other news, It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time! is coming along well, in my opinion. Things are happening that I hadn’t planned or anticipated, which is really fun. It baffles me that one’s mind can do things or come up with things seemingly as if it were a separate entity or something. I still have to finish up the camp shirts, and there’s all kinds of other business going on, but I’m still ahead of the game as far as the comic strip, which is good.
Off to “stuff”!
Please let me know what you think, it makes my brain happy.
