Project Description

This drawing is one of the first “finished” pieces of concept art I made for my work in progress “Wilhelm”. I know flying whales aren’t unique to fantasy stories, but the image hit  my brain like a truck back in 1998 and was part of a much larger, epic tale. I’d like to think my drawing skills have improved since that time, I certainly know my digital art making prowess has grown by leaps and bounds since then. Hence I plan to revisit this image, as well as produce some new ones, from the Wilhelm universe…just as soon as I slog through some other projects in front of me.

The color version of the Flying Whales. Unfortunately it only exists as two color printouts on generic photo paper tucked away in my portfolio, the original color digital file is lost.
