INKTOBER 2024 Day #7: PASSPORT.
“I’ve always thought traveling would be fun, though daunting to plan and actually do. I do have a passport, but I’ve only left the country twice in my entire life, once to Costa Rica for our honeymoon, and once to Canada for a long weekend family trip. There are lots of places I’d love to go, cultures I’d like to experience, architecture I’d like to check out, and natural and historical sights I’d like to see with my wife. Japan is up there on my list, as is Iceland, as well as Europe and the Scandinavian nations. I’d like to go back to Canada and Costa Rica to explore more, too. South America in general seems mysterious (due to my ignorance) and intriguing, and Antarctica would be amazingly epic. Heck, I’d even like to see more of my own country, if we get right down to it (though if I ever get out to see the redwoods and giant sequoias I may adopt a Wookie/Ewok existence and never be seen again). Maybe some day there will be money, time, and fewer logistical hurdles and the planning and going will seem less scary. I remember my memere and pepere taking trips all over the world once my pepere retired. I always enjoyed seeing their pictures and marveling at some of the things they got to see and experience. They traveled with family, which always sounded extra fun, and I loved hearing about their trips.
On a related note: I want to start my own island nation…”
