INKTOBER 52 2023 Day #25: KABOOM.

I had to take several days before landing on this idea. It was hard to escape the obvious explosion with giant comic letters, which still would have been appropriate given my history with and love of comics. It just felt too obvious, though. It wasn’t “clever”. In my image searching and brainstorming, I inevitably branched off into Looney Toons and stumbled on Marvin the Martian, a character I had almost forgotten about. Looney Toons were a big part of my childhood and a definite influence on my art and sense of humor. I think I’ve mentioned before that even the fact that PMD speaks via signs came directly from Wile E. Coyote. It’s always fun to pay homage to the mish-mash of things that have influenced me, that have been combined in various ratios in my Brain and expressed through my fingers in ways that are perhaps vaguely familiar and hopefully relatable.
