Project Description
INKTOBER 52 2023 Day #47: FEAST.
“A feast fit for a monkey. I guess I sort of broke my rule and went more or less literal with this prompt interpretation. I considered filling the table with weird foods, but in the end, I think I was hungry, so I just started adding my favorite things to eat. Unsurprisingly, it’s mostly breakfast items (breakfast foods are the best foods, and if you disagree with that, you’re wrong. Fight me.). Eggs are probably my favorite, I don’t even care what ‘style’. In fact, that’s one of the things I love about them: they’re so versatile and can take many different delicious forms. Bacon is right up there, because bacon. I’m also a huge fan of potatoes, which are kind of like the vegetable world’s eggs because of their versatility. Baked potatoes, home fries, French fries, mashed potatoes (I forgot to add a plate of those)…I could happily subsist on eggs, bacon, and potatoes alone for the rest of my days (which, according to my annually creeping cholesterol levels, probably wouldn’t be that long if I made that my exclusive diet). I also love bread, which is the grain equivalent of eggs, if you ask me, with all it’s different flavors and grain types and formats (breads, rolls, torillas, pretzels…). I particularly love a home-made apple chunk bread my super wife makes for me. And let’s not forget pizza. It’s one of those perfect foods because you can put just about anything on it from meat to veggies to, yes, fruit (ham and pineapple is an awesome topping. Fight me). With the toppings, crust, sauce, and cheese, it’s all the food groups combined. It’s the Voltron of food.
Hm. I’m still hungry.”
