I need to learn the proper way to produce crisp speed lines by hand. I made a few speed line brushes in Photoshop that work well, but I’ve always been impressed with the artists that do it the old fashioned way. Maybe I’m just not patient enough? This topic sort of gets me thinking about my artistic process in general, and how many hang ups I have about “cheating” using certain digital tools. At the end of the day, what should really matter is the finished product, not so much the process (unless the process is an integral part of what gives the final product meaning). Hm.
