Panel 3 is really the first time in the strip that I introduced a little perspective with PMD walking towards the “camera”. Up until this point, things have mostly been essentially profile layouts. My complaining about us going off on an adventure unprepared is very true to my personality. I took the Boy Scout motto to heart in my youth, and I tend to be over prepared and overpacked for anywhere I go. PMD’s free spirited “let’s just start walking”, spontaneous attitude is something I strive for, but never quite attain. The reference to that “vest of yours” is my beloved Vest of Holding. It’s a tactical police vest with a bajillion pockets for all my things. I wear it whenever I leave the house, it’s holds my everyday carry items (wallet, phone, keys, that sort of stuff), some art supplies (moleskin, pens), as well as some survival type supplies (multi tools, flint and steel, fire starters, knife sharpener, compass, emergency whistle, headlamp, face mask…). It even has a pouch on the back for a drink bladder.
