Project Description

More progress on my manga self-portrait project. I’m trying to come up with a mangafied version of myself that I can draw quickly and reliably without much photo reference once I start working on Revery again. At this point in the project, I’ve decided to steer away from the ballpoint pen and pick up my Copic Multiliners. I sketch out the portraits in pencil, and then ink them. It’s becoming more and more difficult to come up with facial expressions and camera angles to keep things fresh and interesting, but I’ve really been focusing in on the “conversation” between the daily photo referenced and the non-photo referenced portraits to help me come up with ideas.
