Commission Reveal: The Warlock Series

Okay, it’s finally time to reveal the latest series of commissioned work. Back around October-ish 2022, author L.S. Gagnon-The Patron Saint of My Art-reached out to me once again about illustrating some new book covers for her. I’ve done her covers for The Witch Series and The Little Witch Series, as well as four story illustrations from The Witch Series. This time, she has a new series of books in the works (some of which are out already), the first cover of which I had illustrated a few years ago (someone else did a few of the follow ups).

Gallery Update: Two People in the Hand is Worth…Um…

Look at that! Two weeks in a row! I’m surprising myself given how strapped for time and generally overwhelmed I am these days. I’ve been keeping busy in the studio as well as on the tablet at night (which might be leading to even more projects for my never ending list, which I’ll talk about here in the near future). Gallery Update: Gasp! A Non-Witch Series Cover!

I’m still behind on posts, and I expect it to stay that way for a while. It’s good to always have fuel for a post when I actually have the time to sit down and craft one. In current Toby events, after I finished up working on the subject of this post, not only did I return to more regular IPMDT panels, but also (are you ready for this?) returned to working on 10 Things! I know! I’ve been saying that forever, but I did! I actually dusted off that file and started pushing pixels around again on that project.

Gallery Update: The Little Witch Book 4

So much for my unofficial resolution to update the site once a week, oops! I was otherwise swamped working on the latest commission, which I think is done and just awaiting final approval and payment, and for the first time it wasn’t for author L.S. Gagnon! I guess I’m branching out a little. I’ll get into the challenges I faced on that cover when I post about it, but basically I had to employ some new tricks, build a few more brushes, and in general push my skills.
